The project consisted of the restoration of a house from the 1960s, focused on dividing the property to create two Airbnb rooms. The entire structure of the house was preserved, with new openings added to enhance light entry and visual finishes. Additionally, the typical characteristics of the Yucatecan modernist era were maintained, such as the slender columns and the light, flown slabs. In terms of materials, most of the original floors were preserved, while certain areas incorporated paste floors and polished white concrete to delineate the new spaces. One of the most significant aspects of the project is the new use of the “aljibe,” which was previously utilized as a water tank and now serves as an intimate space within a small pool.
